CT Legal News You Can Use: Asbestos Litigation No Longer Just in Bridgeport

If you are a Connecticut attorney that handles asbestos cases, you'll be happy to know that you might be saving yourself some gas money. 

Notice is hereby given that effective January 1, 2011 the state court venue for asbestos cases will no longer lie exclusively in the Judicial District of Fairfield at Bridgeport. Pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. Section 51-345, all civil process shall be made returnable to the appropriate judicial district. The asbestos cases will be handled in the ordinary course of business.

Parties filing Asbestos Litigation actions shall provide notice of the filing of new actions related to asbestos. Notice must be provided to:

Such notice shall contain the name of the case, the return date, the Judicial District in which filed, and the name, address, juris number and telephone number of counsel.  In all civil cases in which a claim of damages resulting from asbestos exposure is made, the designation
