The Sandy Hook Conspiracy

My two cents.  Since the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook, I have noticed an increase in people creating Facebook conspiracy pages. Dubbed "truthers", many people have called into question whether this horrific event even occurred.  Some of them are even posting private family photos of the children who died.  If you are one of these people, I would like to help you with your research.  Here is all you need to know about any of the children involved.

The children who died were all around six years old. Like many children, they had a range of interests in sports, arts, animals, and music. Like most kids, they loved to learn and play. They giggled at silly jokes and cried over scraped knees. They had bright futures and loving families. They were murdered before their lives even started.

As a result of the actions of a mad man, their parents will never see their children grow. They will never have the joy of watching them open presents on Christmas morning or blow out birthday candles again.  No more reminders to scrub their ears or brush their teeth. They will not see them off to proms or beam proudly as they graduate. They will never drop them off at college or walk them down the aisle at their weddings. Instead of preparing for the Holidays, their parents made funeral arrangements. Instead of opening presents, they closed child sized caskets. The children who died were real people. They existed. Their parents are not actors. They are real people too.  I am sure these poor parents would move heaven and earth for the opportunity to hear one more I love you from their child.

You cannot imagine the grief that they will endure for the rest of their lives. Yet you continue to question whether these children even existed. You post photos of their children and question if they died. You torment the parents with questions of whether they are actors, did they cry enough or why did they smile when someone offered them a condolence or a hug. You berate them for a perceived nervous laugh or an uneasy smile. You litter their memorial pages dedicated to the memories of their children with conspiracy theories. You give a pass to their killer with claims he was never there. You harass a man who had the audacity to provide shelter to a group of terrified children escaping from a murderer. You question why people would donate money to help with the expense of a funeral or a scholarship. You accuse a grieving town of lying.

I hope this adds to your "research" As you continue to post photos of these children with captions questioning their existence, I hope you reflect on the pain and torment you continue cause to the people who loved them and would do anything to just hold them close just one last time. I think the families have had shed quite enough tears. I ask that you show a little consideration and let these families grieve in peace.

Your words may be well intended, but your blanket comments only perpetuate your own conspiracy. They only apply to a small fraction of Sandy Hook 'Truthers' (those who claim the total event was faked) Most so called 'truthers' are just people who simply question the official story. Why would they do this you ask...? Perhaps because thus far, there IS NO official story. EVERYTHING is sealed until the summer, and so many things that have been reported by the media, don’t add up. Don’t you think those same parents you claim to support deserve more answers? Thank you.

Thank you for your comments. If you read the post, my comments are toward those who post photos of children and claim that they never existed or claim that the parents are actors. I highly doubt that these parents "Appreciate" anonymous posters on facebook spreading the rumor that their child is indeed alive and that they faked their deaths.

Well said, Adrien. Thank you for standing up for those who cannot.
It surprises me that there are still those out there who refuse to accept that evil exists.

Bruce with all due respect, Sandy Hook is a real tragedy with real people. What these people are doing is far from being insightful analysis. They are harassing families on memorial pages. Frankly, the majority of these amateur sleuths simply repost ridiculous theories and make conspiracies out of common occurrences. I will give you one example. Many of them are convinced that the United Way was involved in Sandy Hook as part of an elaborate conspiracy. They base this on one thing. Someone did a google search of Sandy Hook and a link to United Way Sandy Hook fundraising page reflected a date that was a few days before the tragedy. A person with common sense would assume it was a snafu. Perhaps the charity re-purposed an old page. Google timestamps are often inaccurate. One need only do a date restricted time search of Sandy Hook and you will see several sites with incorrect date links. I saw one with a 2009 date timestamp discussing the Sandy Hook students singing at the 2013 Superbowl. Conspiracy theorists would rather believe that an organization made up of charities would plan a massacre in order to set up a fundraiser to provide money to survivors. It is foolish. The point of my post was simple. You are free to believe what you want. But show a little decency. Don't take it to the level where you are reposting family photos of their dead children with captions suggesting they are alive. And stay off the memorial pages. They are there for grieving families to share memories, not for conspiracy theorists to share outlandish theories. It is heartless and cruel.

"Truthers" aren't the ones who posted a fake picture of Allison Wyatt who is, in fact, Lily Gaubert. Mother, Cathy Gaubert, claims the picture was stolen off her social media page and was distraught to see her daughter labelled as a victim of Sandy Hook--maybe Mrs. Gaubert is lying?. Then there is the video paying tribute to the 19 children killed, but we are told there are 20. Whose picture is missing from that video? Allison Wyatt. Strange.

Who posted the video of Robbie Parker laughing as he approaches the microphone--looks kind of like he is saying "just read from the card?" Then he breathes hard, appears to be going into "acting mode" and says "My name is Robbie Parker, and I lost my little girl," etc. etc.? Who posted that video? Where did they get the full version? Why is this part cut in other media posts so as not to show the strange behavior right before he speaks?

Anderson Cooper is confronted about his "green screen" performance where his nose "disappears." He admits to the young man that the news clip interviewing "Mrs. Pozner" is basically fake--he is not in fact standing in front of a church at a memorial service in Newtown--it is a green screen (CNN has since pulled the vid). He assures us that he did attend "some" of the memorial services even if that one was fake. Explain it to us, lawyer man. Hint: look for the color green. Thank you.

They giggled at foolish humor and cried over crawled legs. They had shiny commodity and adoring family members. They were killed before their lifestyles even began.

Now, as a lawyer, is it your job to debunk conspiracy theories? Because I know of a lot of conspiracy theories that I know I would like to be debunked. I would try for a lot of them too, but being stuck in Cambridge with no money sort of inhibits me from doing that.

Very good post, I totally agree. These people have no respect for anything and aren't aware of how they're contributing to the families' suffering.
