Growing up, I never one of those kids that liked to play with Legos. My guess is that I was just too lazy. I wanted my toys already put together. Of course, there are plenty of people who really love legos. Oklahoma City police report that they have arrested a man that may be responsible for a crime spree that netted him $10,000 worth of Legos. (If you have kids, you know that amounts to about four boxes.)
Thirty year old Todd Franklin Curtis allegedly had several Target stores in his crosshairs. Curtis would eventually be caught by the venerable security at Target. They caught on to the man's diabolical scheme. Apparently Todd would push a full cart of Legos to the cash register and would then step outside to pretend to talk on his cell phone. When the coast was clear, Todd would push the cart outside the door. Curtis has been charged with grand larceny.
If you like Legos as much as Todd, our law student readers may enjoy this Lego recreation of Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad. Good luck with finals.
